NORTH STARS WIN AND REMAIN IN 1ST PLACE!

If you asked North Stars GM Chris Ashton what he thought about the North Stars being in first place at this point in the season, he would probably tell you it was never a doubt in his mind.  If you asked the pundits and talking heads, they would tell you it was a surprise, because Ashton is known to ruin a dressing room, and those antics rarely make for 1st place teams!

In a big win over the Canucks, the North Stars scored 4 times to the Canucks 1.  Ashton himself picked up 1st Star honours with 2 goals and 1 assist, while Geoff Palin earned second star for tending the pipes, and the Canucks Marco Barbuto got third star, even though he was not wearing the proper uniform.

Flames brother duo Donny and James Easterbrook sit atop the point standings with 17 and 14 points, respectively.  North Stars Steve Bertolo rounds out the top three with 13 points.  Between the pipes, Geoff Palin has returned to form, having a 2.14 GAA and a 6-1-0 record with a league leading 2 shutouts.  Daniel “I enjoy gardening and the ballet” Levesque has the leagues leading GAA with 2.00.
