PENALTY RULES!!!

PHN!

Welcome to the SUMMER 2015 season!  We hit the ice tonight!

Couple of disciplinary notes that need to get out of the way:

The usual suspects, and you know who you are, will bitch and whine, and bitch, and whine, and whine, and bitch…… about penalties and what the calls are for.  Here are some reminders:

penalty box1. The refs will call crease violations.  If you SKATE INTO THE CREASE without the puck or it isn’t there, they will blow the whistle and face-off goes outside.  DO NOT INTERFERE WITH THE GOALIES.

2. The following are 4 minute double minors: Slashing, cross-checking, high-sticking (not the puck, but a player), body contact, roughing.  Others may be called and are up to the discretion of the referees and the Commissioners.

3.  Penalties can, and will be given post-game if we see things that are not called.  The Commissioners can at any time give a penalty, increase a penalty, and give game ejections.

4.  3 penalties in one game, or 8 minutes in penalties and you are automatically ejected from the game.  Further discipline may be given.

5.  If you reach a total of 20 minutes in penalties in the regular season, you will be suspended for 1 game AUTOMATICALLY.  We have gone through 10 years of historical data for the summer, and only 1-3 people have ever reached that.  So if you do, enjoy the time off…..

95% of the players in the league NEVER have issues with this at all.  The 5% that do, well…it is the same 5% all the time.

See you on the ice (not in the box!)!

The Commissioners
