PLAYOFF STRUCTURE

Here is the structure for the playoffs!!

Two-game series, total points wins it.  2pts for a win, 1pt for a tie.  NO OVERTIME for games.  If at the end of regular time in the second game, both teams are tied for points, they will play a sudden death 5 minute overtime 4 on 4.  Then if still tied, it will go into a 3 player shootout which the opposing team will select the shooters.  If no one wins then, we go to a sudden death shootout with each shooter being picked by the other team till we have a winner.  No shooter will shoot twice till all shooters have shot at least once.

The top three teams advance to the semi-finals.

The 4th wild card spot will be decided as follow:

(addition: the team with the most points gets the 4th spot, however, if there is a tie for that, below is how it breaks down!)

1. GOALS AGAINST

2. GF-GA

3. LEAST PIMS in the regular season

The bottom two teams will play for the TOILET BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP with the loser of the game winning the coveted trophy!!

The semi-finals will be a 1 game match, with the same overtime and shootout rules as the above if the game ends in a tie at the end of regulation.  Seedings will be based on regular season standings, so the top seeded team will play the lowest seeded team, etc…

The Consolation Championship will take place between the two losing teams from the semis.  Same overtime and shootout rules as the above if the game ends in a tie at the end of regulation.

The PHN CHAMPIONSHIP game will then be the two winning teams from the semi’s.  If at the end of regulation we have a tie game, we will then play sudden death, 5 on 5 until a goal is scored.  No shootout, no time limit!
