Playoff Tiebreaker Rules!
Plus getting the games started on time – puck drop time is mandatory
The Seals and Nords are both up one game to zero in the PHN playoffs.
So what happens if the Whalers and Caps come back to win Game two?
Or if the finals or toilet bowl end regulation time in a tie?
At the new rink there is not time for a 5 minute OT period.
So teams will move immediately to a shoot out.

First there is a three player shootout.
Teams select any three players to start.
The shooters start simultaneously.
The team with the most goals wins.
If there is still a tie after 3 shots then we proceed with a sudden death shootout.
No player is allowed to shoot twice until everyone has gone.
If a player is in the box at the end of the game, they do not participate in the shootout.
Puck Drop Time, staying on time
Games have been starting late.
We need to ensure we use our time efficiently as we have been waiting 3-5 mins at the start of each game lately.
So for Monday and the Finals:
Teams must be ready to get on the ice and start immediately.
The clock will be set at 18:00 minutes the second the Zamboni door closes.
There will be a buzz at the 16 minute mark and the clock keeps running even if players are not at centre ice for the face off.
Puck should drop at the 15 minute mark.
So be ready to play, gather the puck from warm up quickly and don’t mess around.
Thanks and good luck to all you PHN superstars.
