PLAYOFFS ARE HERE, AND EXPLAINED!

The playoffs are now here.  March break is over, and we are back at it!

Mustangs (1) vs. The Oil (6)

North Stars (3) vs. The Godfathers (5)

Bombers (3) vs. The Chiefs (4)

2 game total points: Win is 2pts, ties are 1pts (games may end in ties)

If at the end of the 2 games, the teams are tied in points, they will:

  • 5 minute sudden death overtime, 3 on 3.
  • Followed by a sudden death shootout (1 shooter), with no shooter repeating until all shooters have gone (team picks their own shooters).

The winners of each series will advance to the semi-finals.  The wild card spot will go to the team that has the (all stats from the 2 game playoff series):

  1.  Most points
  2.  Most wins
  3.  Least goals against
  4.  Least PIM
  5.  Regular season standing

The bottom 2 teams will play the following week in THE TOILET BOWL Championship, with the losing team taking home the trophy! The reigning champs are THE OIL!!  Who will DETHRONE them from their perch a top the might Toilet Bowl?

SEMI-FINALS

The winners play in the semi-finals, in a 1 game winner advances TIEBREAKERformat.  The match-ups will be determined with a twist!!!!  The highest ranked team based on the regular season standings that advances to the semi’s, will get the benefit (or not!) of picking WHO THEY WANT TO PLAY in their semi-final match-up! This will be announced in a live phone call with the Captains!

If there is a tie at the end of regulation, there will a 5 minute sudden death overtime, followed by a 3 player shootout (teams pick their own players), where no player may shoot again till all players have shot.  This will also apply to THE TOILET BOWL Championship as well, played on the same night.

CHAMPIONSHIPS

Rainbow GFThe winners of the semi-final match-ups will face off in the PHN CHAMPIONSHIP!! The losers will have their season come to an end.

Championship night will have just the two teams playing for the trophy!!  One game, winner takes all! Will it be the North Stars for a 5th consecutive time?????  If the game is tied after regulation, we go into a 4th period (15 minutes) of sudden death hockey, and continue with 15 minute periods till someone scores! NO SHOOTOUTS, NO 3 on 3, just 5 on 5 old school hockey!
