The Playoffs are COMING!

The PLAYOFFS are coming folks!

Mark your calendars for March 17, 2014 for the start of the PHN playoffs! This year, we have a new format which we expect to hear a ton of complaints about, a ton of love for, and a ton of who cares, let’s just play (the right attitude!).

Week 1 and 2 – 2 game total points; 2 pts for a win, 1 pt for a tie. If series is tied in points, we immediately go to a 5 minute period of 3 on 3. If no goal is scored by then, we move to 2 on 2 until a goal is scored.

1st vs. 6th
2nd vs. 5th
3rd vs. 4th

Therefore, 3 winners will advance to the semi-finals, with the 4th spot open for a wild card. The wild card will be decided between the 3 teams that lost their series based on the following rankings:

1. Pts
2. GF-GA (goal differential)
3. Lowest PIMS in the playoffs
4. Regular season standings

So even if you are going to lose, make sure you don’t get blown out, it can make a difference!!!!

Semi-final week will feature:
1st vs. 4th
2nd vs. 3rd
5th vs. 6th in the TOILET BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP
If the game is tied at the end of regulation, we immediately go to a 5 minute period of 3 on 3. If no goal is scored by then, we move to 2 on 2 until a goal is scored.
(Seeding for 1 to 4 will be based on regular season standings, however, the team that gets the wild card automatically is ranked 4th)

Championship Week will feature:
Loser 1 vs. Loser 2 in the CONSOLATION FINALS
Winner 1 vs. Winner 2 in the PHN Championship
If the consolation final game is tied, we go to 5 minute sudden death overtime featuring 4 on 4. If no goals are scored, we go until a goal is scored 3 on 3.
In the PHN Championship game, we go until a goal is scored 5 on 5.

See you on the ice!
