Suspension

The following was released to the media this morning from the Commissioner’s Office:

“Chris Ashton of the North Stars has been suspended 1 game for his actions in this week’s game against the Canucks.  Ashton received 18 minutes in penalties, including a 4 minute double minor for unsportsmanlike conduct for throwing/slamming his stick.  He will miss the semifinal game, and be eligible for the consolation or championship game”

The league would like to yet again remind players that it is 100% not acceptable to engage the referee in arguing calls.  Furthermore, it is not acceptable to be swearing at the referee at any point in time, and a suspension may be given for this act alone, as it has in this case.
