Ten things I learned at the last PHN playoff game
Like the fact that attendance is super optional!
It’s been awhile boys but here are ten things I learned at the last PHN playoff game.
- Pags still has it! – He potted three goals in a big 6-3 win for the Nords over the Caps. Wearing that French blue he’s now officially Franco Italian.
2. Mark still also has it – four points in the same game!
But what’s up with the bad dye job growing out?
This is not the quality flow we expect from this guy.
3. Playoffs have become a time Captains to take vacations to Costa Rica.
Looking at you Niner. WTF!?
Renewing your wedding vows?
Well then you scored twice you stud because your team won! Can you see into the future?
4. Playoffs are apparently optional for goalies to show up.
Lots of double duty with keepers playing back to back because of no shows.
Adds to the drama!
5. Playoffs have also become a time for both Whalers captains to skip a must win game and essentially leave their team leaderless!
While this seems like a pretty dicey strategy somehow it worked out with a huge win for the big green machine as they harpooned the Seals 7-3.
Way to go Doc and Marco!
6. Playoffs have also become a time for Captain Johnny to get some kind of an elbow injury?
Like the kind I’d expect a younger single and lonely guy to have.
Rod the Bod claims it has something to do with axe throwing … sure Rod.
6. Speaking of Rod, it’s unclear if he will end his long time loser streak and finally win a championship this season.
Somehow despite having Joe B, Matt M and JustinO! the Caps fell into second place at the end of the season and looked sluggish in game 2 of the round robin.
However, the Capitals do now have Dom B.
He was traded twice this winter for salary cap reasons. The Caps are hoping loading up with this rental player will to take them to the finals!
7. Back to long time losers – it does not look like this is Captain Moe’s year!
On the plus side he did show up for his game last week.
The problem is only 5 of the other Seals could be bothered so they had get 3 spares to skate with eight.
Still everyone show some respect for the man.
The league leader in Toilet Bowl appearances is eventually going to have the sweetest win ever and the most fucking epic parade.
If this winter does not work out hope summer 25 is your time buddy.
8. Everyone also show some respect for Wedge.
He graduated with honours from the S. Turbo Myska Breakaway School.
That’s the only possible reason he could have blown his all alone with all kinds of time breakaway chance last game.
I mean the Whalers won anyway but maybe he could you have just pretended it was a little tap in putt?
9. Wow. I’m very impressed with the coronary kids!
The Arson and The Kuz both look good in their come back seasons.
Heart problems? Maybe from loving the game so much!
As is tradition the Arson was of course traded – so we know things are back to normal with him.
Great to see you back on the ice and getting into it.
As for the Kuz, well he’s been a super spare and while that is weird he’s still keeping a close eye on the stats page.
Yes Kuz, we see you!
10. Finally, time keeping is hard!
Maybe the playoff pressure was too much for the box crew because even they skipped the game.
There’s a lot to do in there, keeping track of points and penalties and playing music.
All that work gets in the way of shooting the shit with whoever else is there.
So timekeepers we see you too.
Especially when you’re not there!
