The finals are set!
The fairy tale of The Oil ended this past Monday, with a 2-0 loss to the Mustangs. Pre-game chatter had The Oil being a slight favourite over the Mustangs, but we all know it is tough to beat a team twice in a row, and ultimately, that proved to be the case. It was great goaltending by The Oil that kept them in the game, allowing only 1 goal, with an empty net goal at the end. Mustang goalie Alfie really wasn’t tested… ever. The Bombers were scouting for his weaknesses, but came up empty handed as The Oil had a season low 3 shots on net in the game.
Congrats to Turbo and Mel Dawg’s Mustangs for the birth in the final!
And in what could be said to be a historical match, the North Stars were looking to continue their success and compete for a 5th Championship in a row. Didn’t happen. Bombers were just too much in the end, and Lenet and Kleinman rallied the troops to win it in a shootout, scoring 2 goals to the North Stars none.
See everyone this Monday for a 9:15pm start time to see the MUSTANGS take on the BOMBERS!
See you on the ice,
The Commissioners
